Yu-Ai Kai Senior Center is celebrating its 45th Anniversary with a gala event to be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Santa Clara Marriott. Performances by Ukulele virtuoso Herb Ohta Jr., and San Jose Taiko. Keynote speaker, Kristi Yamaguchi. This event is dedicated to the late Jimi Yamaichi, a longtime supporter, advocate and advisor of Yu-Ai Kai.

Japantown Lions Club and Foundation will be cooking up "A Short Stack for a Tall Cause". Pancakes, Hawaiian style fried rice (rice, Spam, Portuguese sausage, and veggies), and scrambled eggs. Issei Memorial Building, to benefit local charities in the Japantown communit.
San Jose JACL Manzanar Pilgrimage
This is a rare chance to experience the Japanese American World War II incarceration at Manzanar National Historic Park, the most well-preserved of the 10 major concentration camps. This will be a 3-day journey beginning on Friday morning, April 26, 2019 until the evening of Sunday April 28th.
